THE MULBERRIES PATH WAS BORN
IN 2021 WHEN THE FOUNDATION
ANNOUNCED THAT IT WOULD
PLANT A THOUSAND MULBERRIES
TO REAFFIRM THE HISTORICAL
IDENTITY OF THE TERRITORY In fact, the cultivation of mulberries - once used to breed silkworms intended for the production of the precious silks of the nearby Royal Silk Farm and Colony of San Leucio - by the will of the Queen Maria Carolina, was extended over the large grounds of the Carditello Estate, which included one of the historic suburbs of Capua: the current district Gelso Boscariello, where a centuries-old white mulberry tree is still preserved.
The route goes through these places, starting from the railway station of Capua and proceeding to Via Boscariello until you reach interpoderal routes in the locality Selvetelle of the Municipality of San Tammaro and then continue to the Carditello Royal Site.
Along the way there are connections with other routes being developed by the F.I.C.S. and various welcoming and rest stop areas at sites of particular interest, called Oasis.
